Note from Dasie, January  2016. I'm living in Greenville, Texas because I've retired.  Greenville is about 45 miles northeast of Dallas.

I am in  my own home now.  I live at 6313 Stonewall Street, Greenville, TX 75402.  It's a blessing to be able to connect with friends on Facebook, but I also enjoy getting regular mail, so please keep in touch with me.

Dear Friends:

Thank you for your prayers and support across the years for Ministry in Alaska.  Phil and I answered the call from God in 1974. Without a missions appointment we did as Paul did. Act 18:3. Paul practiced a trade as well as preached the gospel, earning his living while he ministered, as many of you do.

In 1975 we were encouraged to get a missions appointment by Alaska Assemblies of God. We got our appointment and continued working as Paul did. Many of you have supported the late Rev. Phil Daugherty and me for years. After my husband passed away in 1997, many continued to support me for Alaska missions ministry and I say, Thank you all!

Romans 10: 13-17 “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe of the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them. And how can they preach unless they are sent? Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.”

Did they hear? Yes, because many of you have sent and prayed and are still sending and praying for missionaries all over the world.

Today I am thanking the Lord and each of you and for the honor I had of representing you and being able to answer the call God put in my heart to Alaska. After 41 years of ministry in Alaska, I am retiring.

I asked God to send others to Alaska ministry and others have answered the call to Alaska.  Many of our missionaries are working as Paul did as they minister in Alaska. The last village I worked in was St. Michael, AK with the Staub family. It was an honor to get to work with them.  We had children's programs every day after school, ladies' book club once a week, craft night, plus church services on Sundays and Wednesdays. When possible we went to Stebbins for Saturday night services.

The Staub family is still in St. Michael, Alaska where the cost of living is very expensive and they are working to supplement their missions income in order that they can minister where God has called them to be.

Now that I am retired from Alaska Missions, I want to encourage you to continue to support Alaska missionaries so they can devote more time to ministry and training and releasing the people of Alaska to do ministry.

Some have asked for an update about my children, who grew up in the villages of Alaska.  Steven Daugherty my son is a lawyer for the Navy. Steve and his lovely wife, Melody, have been transferred from Japan to Hawaii where they both are working. Alesha and her husband, Robert Ferguson, both are ordained ministers and pastor at Healy, Alaska. They have  two lovely girls, Nadya and Sasha, and they are working in the church along with their parents.

Thank you again for your prayers and support for missions.  May God bless each of you in the ministry where God has called you to serve.

Your Partner in Christ,

Dasie Daugherty

PS: I would like to encourage you to give to Alaska Missionaries.  Rev. Linda and Brian Staub, Alaska Native Ministries, account #272773. Rev. Dr. Wade and Susan Cogan, Intercultural Ministries, account #217222.  Go to www.ag.org for more information.
