Mother Layne's Hospitality Home for Servicemen

San Diego, 1941-1975

Layne's Hospitality Home was a Christian "Home Away from Home" for young men and women in the armed forces during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam.  Their spouses and children also came to the Home, which was founded by Mother Layne.  After her death, Dad & Mom Rattan became directors.  For more information, click here.  The Home was located at 1268 22nd Street in San Diego.

If you were ever at the Home, you may remember the 9-passenger 1939 Chrysler Imperial Limousine used to transport soldiers, sailors and marines around town.  Here's a photo taken in 1951 or 1952.
